CVKH BLOG: April Events - something for everyone



April is looking like a busy month around here!  If you're planning your calendar, here's what's coming up:
  • Workshop: Beginning Spinning with a Wheel, April 2nd, 9 am to noon -- Join us at Camphill Kimberton in the Fiber Arts workshop and learn to card, spin and ply wool using a spinning wheel.  $45 in advance, $50 on the day.  To register, call Felicity at 610-935-0350. 

  • 2nd Annual Kimberton Waldorf School and Kimberton Whole Foods Green Fair, April 2nd from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. -- Come out for a gathering of great local organizations, artisans, farmers, and more! This is a true community event...free for all and family friendly. Here’s your chance to meet your local farmers, producers, practitioners, artists, and green-minded companies. There will be lots of free samples, educational materials, and local art and music. A delicious organic lunch to benefit Kimberton Waldorf School’s Food for Thought lunch program will be sold for $5.00.  This event is at the Kimberton Waldorf School, 410 West Seven Stars Rd. Phoenixville, PA 19460.

  • Everyman: a medieval morality play, April 9 at 4:30 p.m.  -- Join us at Camphill Kimberton in Rose Hall for this play updated for modern times by Richard Dancey. Performed by the Youth Group of The Christian Community in the Washington D.C. area.  Appropriate for ages 9 and up! Donations go towards the Youth Group Summer Trip to Austria and Italy.
 
  • Spring Yard Sale, April 13-16 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., open until 8 p.m. on Friday -- Treasures await you at our annual yard sale event, held in the former cafe space, adjacent to the Camphill Cafe.  The Cafe is open from Wednesday to Saturday, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.... why not stay for lunch? 
 
  • Special Spring Photography Fundraiser, April 16 from noon to 4 p.m. -- Come to Virago - a an all Natural Bakery Cafe, specializing in Gluten-Free, Vegan and European Style cakes and pastries - and have your child's photo taken by MGM Photography for a donation to Camphill Kimberton.  This event is held at Virago Baking Company, 322 1/2 W. Main St., Lansdale, PA 19446.

  • Third Annual Wine and Dine Talkfest, April 17 at 5 p.m. -- Join us at the Birchrunville Store Cafe for an intimate evening of great food, local wines and exceptional conversation, all to benefit Camphill Kimberton.  Contact bernadette@camphillkimberton.org for your reservation. 
 
  • Coffeehouse at the Camphill Cafe, April 22 at 6:30 p.m. -- Live music and refreshments, featuring the music of BJ Sarkissian & Tamara Sheen at 7 p.m and Tara Cannon at 8 p.m.
  •  Being Human in the 21st Century - a symposium, April 26-29 -- Humanity has developed powerful forces of technological innovation, integrating policies, and ecological insight, yet today we face challenges unimaginable even decades ago. What is needed of us now? We invite you to participate in a dialogue-centered symposium “Being Human in the 21st Century: Towards New Thinking” that brings together outstanding social thinkers, environmentalists, and other active participants to share and create insights into what is needed to inspire and develop the best aspects of human nature and civilization.     • Full conference April 26-29th, lunches and dinners at Camphill Café included, Regular fee: $350.00; Camphill resident fee: $250; Senior, Student, or Disability Discount Fee: $150.
